Mail App Syncing Issues

Hi. I am having issues with the mail app. When I try to move emails between folders it doesn't seem to sync these changes up to the cloud.

Example I create a folder in my iCloud mailbox and then I tried to move a number of emails from another account to this folder it all looks like it it has went ok on the mail app but when I check on iCloud via the browser I can see the folder but none of the mail is showing.

It doesn't just seem to be iCloud. Tried with a 365/exchange account with the same results. Doesn't matter which folder I choose the mail looks like it has copied in on the mail app but when checking on the cloud it just isn't syncing.

I thought it was related to the fact I was trying to move a large amount of mail at once so tried a smaller number but got the same results. Any ideas.

Start with this of M1 or M2 Mac...

Start up a Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.

After your Mac shuts down, wait 10 seconds.

Press and hold the power button on your Mac until the startup options window appears showing available startup disks and Options.

Select a startup disk.

Press and hold the Shift key, click Continue in Safe Mode, then release the Shift key.

To leave safe mode, restart your Mac normally, without pressing and holding any keys during startup.

Start with this if IntelMac...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

If you have no POP accounts & they’re all IMAP accounts then in Mail’s Mailbox menu choose Rebuild.
