Mission Control functionality

Mission Control has never saved my desktops after shutdown and restart. Are saved desktops supposed to be automatic and something is wrong with my iMac? I don't think I am the only one who experiences this problem.

Wouldn't it be a lot more functional for everyone if there was an explicit way to rename desktops and save them according to user preference? Every user would appreciate having to never having to start their day reorganizing their messy desktops ever again. I hope this gets on your list to implement in future OS upgrades.

I have no issue with Mission Control as you describe...

What happens if you simply let the iMac sleep, and pickup where you left off.
