I chose an Australian male to be my Siri, so do I need to have an Australian accent or so he can understand me

Can I change Siri’s cultural bias? I live in Melbourne, and have an Australian iPhone. I think that is why Siri tries to translate my speech as an Australian accent, and in fact a broad Australian accent, which I certainly don’t have. Does anyone know a way I can change Siri to expect normal UK English, which would be a far better match to my speech. For example, if I say “to die for”, Siri will make it “today for”. conversely, if I say the word “matey”, Siri won’t understand it unless I pronounce it “mighty”… these are only a couple of examples, but I use dictation a lot especially for messages and it can drive you crazy over time.

If you are in the US and requesting a male, Australian Siri voice, then I don’t think you would have to speak with an accent. Try it. You can always change back.
