Apple store purchases

Hi, I currently have an IPad Air 2, version 15.7.1


I just got this from my brother in law. He did a factory reset and I created my own apple account on the iPad. I can't seem to get the apple store to let me buy an app from the store? It will let me download a free app, but not purchase an app. I have tried 3 different methods of payments, using 2 different debit cards and using PayPal. When I go to buy an app it will prompt me to input a password which I do. But once it says done, the same prompt comes up again over and over again.


I have also tried signing out of my apple account on the iPad, and logging back in - no change. I have tried restarting the iPad - no change.


Hoping to resolve this. Any suggestions? Below is a picture of what message keeps popping up over and over. Any help would be appreciated.

Has your brother in law remove the iPad from his account?

See -> Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in - Apple Support


Then you can sign in with own your Apple ID.

 

2.

I have tried 3 different methods of payments, using 2 different debit cards

You need to set ONE payment mehtod as your default payment.

See -> Add a payment method to your Apple ID

Add a payment method to your Apple ID – Apple Support (UK)

  • If you want to change your card, add first the new card, then remove the old one.
  • or if you use your Apple ID balance, you need to set your Apple ID balance as your default payment


If you update your payment method or add funds to your Apple ID balance, It would take about 1 to 3 business days in order to process.

If you're still unable to update your payment method, Contact Apple Support.
