iPhone 14 Pro Max will not play notification sounds on lock screen unless bluetooth is turned off

Why won't my iPhone 14 Pro Max play any notification sounds when my phone is locked and bluetooth is turned on? When I turn bluetooth off the the sounds will work on Lock Screen. Is anyone else having same issue? Does Apple have a solution to fix this??

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16

Hi remington196,

To confirm, is your iPhone 14 Pro Max connecting to any Bluetooth headphones when this happens? We're wondering because sometimes the notification might be routed to the Bluetooth accessory instead.

If this doesn't happen when using a Bluetooth device, you could see if restarting your iPhone 14 Pro Max may help. Restarting can help refresh the iOS, which can sometimes help resolve unexpected issues. If needed, the steps below show how to restart:

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

That information is from this link: Restart your iPhone Please let us know if that helps or if you've already trie that step.

Take care.
