I forgot the password to my locked folder can I still open it?

Hi! A few months ago I created a locked folder filled with pictures of my late parents, and recently I tried to open it again but I suddenly forgot the password and cant open it. Is there a way to reset/forget password the disk in order to see the images again?

Im currently using MacOS Monterey 12.5.1

Hi Kirai_,

If you've forgotten the passphrase for the encrypted image, there would be no way to recover that. If you're unable to enter the correct passphrase, the files contained within will not be accessible. For more information, check here: Create a disk image using Disk Utility on Mac

We hope this clears things up.

Cheers.
