New Apple Watch Ultra won't connect with Technogym Stepper & Bike

Hi guys, I love using NFC to connect my apple watch 7 series to my technogym gear.. works great. Bought a brand new ultra watch a few weeks ago, BUT it will not connect to the same technogym equipment!

I hold the watch next to the nfc sensor, and the watch buzzes, says "waiting" then after 30 seconds times out and says cannot connect.

1. Yes, I have already tried restarting my apple watch
2. Yes, I have already tried restarting the technogym equipment
3. It does the same on two different equipments + they were working with my previous apple watch (7 series).
4. I've downloaded the technogym app, but no difference, and actually that doesn't use NFC/Bluetooth to connect to the gym equipment, it uses wifi and internet to update.

Its so frustrating, because I really use my apple watch for this specific purpose in the gym. Any ideas? Should I sell my ultra and go back to the 7 series??
