How to block domains when they change the Domain prefix

I keep getting email from a sender that continually changes the first part of the domain, but leaves the ending part the same. An example would be something@randomcharacters.reg.ru where the "randomcharacters" portion continually changes. Is there a way to wildcard that and set a rule to send them to trash before they ever get to your inbox or junk folder? I tried this, but it does not work. @*.reg.ru

Thanks

I’m getting the same barrage of email spam from reg.ru domains, often more than 50 per day. This has been going on for more than a month and yet apple seems to be unwilling to block them at the server level. Left unchecked this will flood the trash and junk mailboxes with so much spam that they will no longer be usable for recovering wanted email messages. At that point it may be time to move on to a new email provider.

I’m using a couple of rules on iCloud.com that put the .ru spam in the trash as well; the problem is then the trash mailbox quickly has hundreds of these in it and it becomes increasingly difficult to retrieve something I want.  I then end up manually emptying the trash folder several times a day.  If I have to spend this much time managing spam myself, why keep using my iCloud (mac.com) email that I have had for 20 years?  Perhaps a better solution going forward is to use my own domain and host it somewhere that blocks incoming spam.

How the **** did we end up in this situation? Normally spam goes away after a bit, this has been relentless.

would be helpful if someone from Apple could talk to us on here, the customer service wasn’t very helpful.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple's participation here is minimal. If you want to discuss the matter with them, you will need to go through Support.

I already did. The scripted response doesn’t really solve the problem. The fact that other people are having it though does offer some comfort. Just binning the emails doesn’t help, the ability to have an outright block on all .ru addresses would be better.

I’m in the UK, are we all in the same geographic area? I’m looking for a pattern. I’ve never had any dealings with a Russian website nor would I want or need to. I don’t want to lose an email address I’ve used for decades now because of this so I’d like some response.

You may get responses to those questions from other users. You will not, however, get a response from Apple on the matter here.

The emails you screen-shotted are just spam, nothing nefarious. The advice to filter them is good. There is really no way, at this time, to prevent spam.

They aren’t just spam, they are spoofing other business websites and phishing for information. I’ve had plenty of spam in the past and it just goes away, this doesn’t, it’s a relentless stream that doesn’t stop.

Yes, that's a not-uncommon kind of spam. If Walmart and Target were really giving out as many"free gift cards" as the spam I get says they are, I'd be rich.
