Lost half of my contacts.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you. We understand that you're missing contacts on your iPhone. To clarify, when you say you tried to restore the contacts with iCloud, what specifically did you do?

Have you tried following the suggestions provided in article, If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud? Do you know if your contacts were stored in iCloud, or could they have been linked from another source?

If you have email accounts other than iCloud on your iPhone, have you checked them to see if the contacts are showing there? For example, do you have Gmail in Mail on your device? If so, you can visit your account online to see if the contacts so there. If they do, follow the steps in the following article, to link your account with Contacts.

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone or iPad

Should it be the contacts were only stored in iCloud, have you visited the iCloud website to see if they appear under Contacts? If you haven't, it would be a good idea to check.
