iPhone 14 pro lightning port problem

A few weeks ago I noticed a weird problem with the lightning port on my phone. So when I connect my phone to a charging adapter or to the PC/MacBook first 20-30 minutes it works well but then if I touch my cable and it moves for a few millimeters the phone will start to disconnect but when I just reconnect the phone it again will work well.

I already tried different cables, charging adapters, restarting the phone, and updating to the new iOS. The lightning port is clean and I don't believe that I broke it for 3 months. Does anyone face this kind of issue?

A little update: after a couple of months, even using the USB-A cable with an old Apple charger, it no longer works. The cable starts to come off again every other time as soon as you touch it :(

I have a 14 pro as well and it has the same problem. My port is completely clean but when using old lightning cables and the lightning apple earphones, little movement of the cord causes it to disconnect. My only guess is that the 14 pro models have ever so slightly bigger ports which causes old cables to not connect with it properly.

Definitely not a bad cable. I have multiple cables/chargers i use around my house and office, and the 14 Pro Max disconnects and reconnects on all of them. All are Anker 3rd party USC-C to Lightening cables that worked perfectly fine with my 12 Pro Max. My work iPhone is a 12 Pro and that phone doesn't have any issues connecting to the same cables/chargers used with the 14 Pro Max.

I decided to test my theory that Apple intentionally made minor changes to the 14 Pro line ports so that they only work without a hitch on apple cables. I used an older USB-A to lightening cable and it worked without a hitch!

I even made apple send me a new 14 Pro Max replacement thinking that would solve my issue...no dice! Same issues. This is total BS on Apple's part

Hello.

Thanks for your response.

I took a look at the port and it looked clean, I didn't see any dust or pieces of something.

I still can charge my phone or use a lightning cable to transfer information I just need to reconnect my device when I face this issue. It is not a critical issue but it is just bothering me, and I want to understand the reason of it to fix it or to give this information to a service center.

Hello,

Hmm, it seems like that you've tried all of the standard steps for not charging. However, before you get hardware service, check the charging port again for lint or other debris (use a bright light and a toothpick):

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t charge

If no help, the only other option is to have the hardware checked (it still should be under warranty):

Find Locations

Good luck.

P.S. you might consider wireless charging in the meantime
