Email on my Mac doesn't open most of the time; why???

Which Mac model, and Mac OS version are you using ?


Are you using the Mail app on your Mac, or which e-mail app ?

and

do you get an error message if you try to open a message that you can not open ?

if you have third-party (non-Apple) apps (eg VPN) installed on your Mac try turning them off.

Uninstall any un-necessary virus-checkers or ad blockers etc. that may interfere,

using the uninstaller available from the app developer or seller's website, or turn them off.

Re: Sometimes one msg will open, but not the rest. Occasionally every other msg opens.


Perhaps the "Remote Content" in messages is just not loaded, (a recent security feature)

so the messages from businesses are not showing properly.

If so, click "Load Remote Content" at the top on the right of those messages you want to view.

We are unable to guess the precise reason, from all the possibilities

Eg: we don't know how you use your Mac, or the Mail app.,

or what third-party (non-Apple) apps you have installed that may interfere. etc.

Wondering which Mac model you are using, and which MacOS is installed.


If you are wanting to get things back in order:

You might try

quitting the eMail app,

restarting your Mac,

Eg:

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart

Wait for Mac to restart:

Then sign back in to Mac, and re-open the Mail app.

Hopefully, this may set things back in order.
