Accessing iphone after death

My mother in law died last year and her phone came to me. I know her apple id but am locked out of phone. Not sure how to reset it so it can be used. Any ideas?

For information about how to request access to a deceased family member's Apple accounts, and through this their equipment, click here --> How to request access to a deceased family member's Apple account - Apple Support

Once you have access you can Turn off Find My on your iPhone or other devices - Apple Support
