Mobile Data only works with WhatsApp

I am trying to get the mobile data on my mom's iPhone 12 (iOS 14.7.1) to work. It suddenly stopped working overnight.

The mobile data connection is established (little 4G sign in upper right corner). I can also send messages and make video calls via WhatsApp.

However, no other application works, including browsing via Safari, using the App Store, Apple Store, or widgets that use internet data (Weather &c). All these work fine on WLAN.

Just as a fun extra challenge: My mom forgot her Sim PIN number, so I can't restart the device.

I would be grateful for any help or suggestions. Thanks!

Your mom iPhone need to have a good Service & Wi-Fi.

If they are On, turn Off Hotspot & VPN.

Charge the battery > 70%.

Is Hotspot & VPN On?

If they are On, turn Off Hotspot & VPN.
