Dead iPad Air2

Hi. I have an old iPad Air 2 thats was having battery issues for the last few years and I did not charge/use it for half a year. Yesterday it was stuck on the dead screen and I charged it overnight (after using multiple methods) and woke up to a black unresponsive screen. Still won’t do anything when trying to restart. Maybe it needs a battery change?

As described, the battery is very likely dead. Unless the battery can hold at least a minimal level of charge, the iPad will be unable to restart.

You might be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to “hands-on” test and assess your iPad.
