Apple Mail image caching

Hello,

I receive a weekly newsletter which contains images. The image has the same name every week. The image is not updating from week to week despite the fact that it uses a different etag from week to week and the expiration settings of the image are fine. I checked this with a web browser.

I have this issue with Apple Mail on the Mac and on the iPhone.

How can the issue be solved?

Hi SMPITMEDIA,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! Since this occurs on more than one device, and emails are synced to your devices from the mail servers, this issue would be isolated to the sender of the newsletters. We suggest reporting this behavior to them so they can look into what is causing it.
