Pages - cell (or row) on multipages

Glasstable's reply to self was saying a table will split across a page boundary ( as seen below) when that is required to get the whole table into the Pages Word processing document, but that feature does not apply to Pages Page Layout documents.

I've not checked to see if that feature also applies to splitting tables vertically when the table gets too wide to fit on a single page. If it does, I suspect 'facing pages' would be a factor in the process.

Turning to your description:

I've not seen one other than the automatic splitting of a table between rows when the (text and) table will not fit the space available on the current page of a wp dcument.

A look at the TOC of the Pages User guide* says that individual cells can be merged, and merged cells can be unmerged, but I don't think that fulfils yo.ur request either.

"a cell or row extended…" implies a cell or row extending beyond one of the boundaries of the table. I doubt that possibility, as the outside boundary of a table has always been a rectangle in my experience.

The visual appearance of a row or cell extending beyond the left or right boundary could possibly be achieved by removing the cell boundaries of cells in the same column(s) as the extended row, but not touching that cell/row and not touching the boundaries of cells in the last column supposed to be visible.

Those cells would still be active, though, and part of the original table.
