Apple Watch Face “World Time” Map will not update

Hello,

i have the Apple Watch 8 and use the Modular Compact watch face with the world time widget, unfortunately it only updates the Map when I restart the device. It would be nice to have it update automatically, so I can make a guess on what time it is on certain parts on the world.

I don't use the world clock but I do use a sun rise/set complication on one of my screens.

What I and others noticed about the sun rise/set, was that it was showing times and then suddenly the times went blank.

I believe that it happened as a result of the latest wOS update.

I think that it might be affecting your world clock.

This is how some of us fixed the sun rise/set:

From your phone, Settings, >Privacy & Security, >Location Services, Apple Watch Faces

Change this to "While Using App"

Hopefully this will get you fixed up ;-)

Hello,

it got resolved but at the same time not really. The issue is I have to turn on Background in the watch face menu and now I’m forced to have everything coloured instead just the linings. Which isn’t looking good at all. In my opinion the Background On/Off shouldn’t interfere with updating the World time map, especially since the time and activity is automatically updating.

Greetings Gabukun,

It sounds like your Apple Watch isn’t updating the world time watch face. We know how important this is for you, and we will help get you to the right place to find a resolution.

The first thing to try is a normal restart of both your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. Also, make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are up to date with the latest OS versions. These steps can often resolve this type of issue:

Restart your iPhone

Restart your Apple Watch

Update your Apple Watch

Update your iPhone or iPad

Cheers!

Gabukun,

Are you still having some issues with your watch face?

Did my suggestion (up there 👆) get the time working again?

Now you're having an issue with the background, is that correct?

Surely my suggestion for fixing the time isn't what changed the background color, right? I'll do some digging, but I believe that you might have accidentally changed the background by editing the watch face.

Please get back to me with the answers to my questions ;-)
