My gen 1 apple pencil shows it is connected but it doesn't work.

My gen1 pencil has been like this for a while now but it has really started bugging me recently as a lot of money was spent on it. I plug in my apple pencil and it has charge, shows it's connected and the tip is fine, but when I go to use it, it does nothing? For reference, I have an iPad air gen3, which is compatible with my apple pencil. Please help!

Why is my Gen 1 Apple Pencil only connecting intermittently? I have a first generation Apple Pencil and a 10.5" iPad Pro running iPadOS v15.0.2. I haven't used my pencil in a couple of years so I charged it from the iPad overnight. When plugged into the Lightning port, it will appear in Settings > General > About beneath SEID for about half a second, then disappear for about half a second and repeat. Whether plugged or unplugged, it appears under Settings > Bluetooth > My Devices as not connected, and when I tap it I get a message, "Connection Unsuccessful." The Pencil doesn't appear in the battery widget in Today View (though the iPad does, along with three blank circles for other devices). Any way to get the Pencil to work?

Apple Pencil will not connect Hi, I recently got an Apple Pencil 1st Generation to go with my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9” and it doesn’t seem to be working. I follow the steps, plug in Apple Pencil to the lightning port, wait for the pop-up asking to pair and it doesn’t. It says connected for the limit of about 2 seconds and then says not connected - even if I haven’t removed the Pencil from the socket. I have left it charging for about 15 minutes and no avail - it still doesn’t work. However, now it takes a few try’s for it even to show the pop-up box asking to pair! Any advice on how to fix this problem would be much appreciated.
