Notes access on MacBook Air

I have been unable to open Notes on my new MacBook Air. The Notes icon shows on my tool bar but nothing happens when I click on the icon. I have no issues accessing Notes from my iphone.

Hello frenchfreyscooter,

You'll need to further isolate this to determine how to solve it. We'd suggest testing this further in another user and in safe mode on the Mac.

To begin:

  1. Test another user: You can do this by creating another Administrator account using these steps: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac Log out of your current user and into this one to test the Notes app.
  2. Boot to safe mode using: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Testing another user tells us if the issue could be system wide or user specific. Testing safe mode will tell us if anything may be blocking the app from launching successfully and it runs a disk repair, similarly to First Aid in Disk Utility.

Let us know how it goes for further help, take care.
