I'm a photographer that uses Photos as one of my archives. Visual Lookup puts an icon in the middle of an image when it recognizes something like a plant or a dog. Nice feature, but I want to turn it off. When I'm reviewing images I don't want that icon to be there.
How can this be done?

Visual Lookup cannot be disabled on Ventura, but the visual lookup badge will only be shown, if the Info panel is not open. If you close the Info for the photo, the visual look-up badge overlay will go away.

Can you clarify? In Photos on Mac I don't get an icon for Visual Lookup.
On my iPhone (though this forum is for Photos on Mac) I get this icon only if I swipe up to get info. When I look at pictures normally, I don't see that. When does this happen for you?
This is absolutely maddening. I need the info window open when I edit photos and having that pop up info badge is so distracting. When it first appeared the pop-up said I could "turn this off in settings" but apparently not true. Using Monterey.

I knew I shouldn’t have upgraded to Ventura. Visual Lookup prevents me from creating my own photo caption. Plus, I don’t need one more app tracking me!

I'm actually on Ventura. Didn't pay attention when categorizing my post. Yes, a new OS is always new fun, unless it becomes a reminder that your Mac can't upgrade anymore, meaning it's time to think about spending money.
