I have discovered a strange text box on my home screen that is mirroring whatever I type on webpages, such as this commentary. I can delete the text but cannot find a way to get rid of this text box. Appreciate any help! Thanks!

Thanks for your response to my question. I restarted my MacBook and that text box seems to have disappeared. Before it did, I discovered that if I hit the "esc" key, the text in that box would be erased. The text that did appear mirrored what I might type into a search box on a webpage or a comment box on a webpage. Very strange but, as I said, it now seems to have gone away.

Did this window appear after installing any new applications to your Mac, or making any changes to your macOS settings?
Which applications do you see open when this window appears? Click the Apple Menu and select “Recent Items” to view your recently used applications.
To isolate further, please try the following steps:
