Charged for previously bought movie

I bought A Christmas Story on Dec 24 2021. I started to watching this movie on Dec 10 2022. When I went back to finish watching the movie on Dec 14 2022 I was prompted that I had to pay 7.99 for it. This happened after I upgraded my iPhone to 16.2 and Apple TV. I clicked on buy and was taken to settings on Apple TV to enter my Apple ID password. I received a receipt for the 7.99. It was billed to my account. I requested a refund through report a problem. I provided the order ID from the purchase in 2021 and the document number. I was denied a refund and denied for appeal. I also recently went to watch The Polar Express and the same thing happened. I have order ID from that purchase in Dec 2019. How do I get in touch with Apple to get this resolved. It’s very discouraging that movies I know I’ve bought are showing up that I have to buy them again, even when I have proof of purchase. I wonder how many other movies I’ve had to repurchase and didn’t realize it.

Hi Cyndee_cee,

Signing in with an Apple ID that's different than the one used to purchase the movies could cause the issue you've described. So double check to make sure you're signed in with the correct Apple ID. This article will help you view your purchase history, so you can confirm the Apple ID that was used for the purchases: View your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and other Apple media services.

How to see your purchase history
1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
3. A list of your recent purchases appears. If you’re not sure what you were charged for but you know the amount of the charge, search for the amount. If you're looking for information about older purchases, find your purchase history in Settings or Account Settings on your device.

If you need more help, reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into this with you further. They can be contacted here: Get Support, or by calling the most applicable phone number from this list: Contact Apple for support and service.

Cheers.
