Has Apple Dropped support for .aif/.aiff files?

My sincerest thanks for all your feedback. As it turns out the affected files act the way they do due to Ableton Live. The affected files are all located within the user library folder, all files outside this folder are accessible and operate as expected in Finder and every other audio program I have available. What Live has done to the files inside the user library folder to make them only usable by live via it's browser, I doubt I'll be able to determine, I'm just glad I can access all my media again. Thank you again for your feedback it made me determined enough to dig deep enough to figure partly figure out my issue.

VLC will allow me to load the file but once I press play the file duration goes from --:-- to 00:00 and nothing happens. I wonder if my coreaudio daemon has become corrupt since not even the finder will play them.

yes no matter what aif I load up when the file is first loaded the duration appears as --:-- and once I press play the duration changes to 00:00 the reason the duration is displayed as 00:00 for all three files is because I tried to play all three before snapping the shot.

It's worth a lot Thank You, as your feedback is letting me know that aif's are still supported as well as letting me know that there is definitely something askew with my system.

There is no duration label showing for any of the aif's on my system. wav's flac's & ogg's are showing up fine with duration, it's just these **** aif's...
