Looking for Channel Guide

Where will I find a list of all the channels available on Apple TV? (I may be talking about Apple TV+ [what's the difference?]) It should have a short description of the channel's focus, just 1 or 2 sentences. To be ideal, each channel would then list the programs it hosts.

The opening screen seems to have all the content jumbled together, with the same show appearing under multiple topics. It looks like I'd have to click on every frame to find a description. Also, am I correct in thinking that Apple's own content (e.g., Foundation) is just a small subset of all the programming available?

How do I make sense of it all?

(Right now I'm watching this on my desktop computer, using Chrome. I have an Amazon Firebox, but I haven't connected to my TV yet. Anyway, this question doesn't have anything to do what I'm watching it on.)

The web access through the site tv.apple.com is for the Apple TV+ channel only. One channel, many titles (shows, movies). The website changes a bit after signing in, as e.g. the category of free teaser episodes doesn’t apply to subscribers that already have full access. The opening page shows all the shows that are available. Note that each row is horizontally scrollable to show more content of the row-category than the window width shows initially. Categories like movies, drama series, sci-fi series, comedy series, non-fiction, kids.

The Apple TV app on e.g. Fire TV can do a bit more than the site. The app brings access to more services:

Unfortunately, the Apple TV app on Fire TV currently doesn’t support in-app transactions, meaning that subscribe/buy/rent actions have to be done on a different supported device (e.g. iPhone) [2]. It all gets linked through your Apple ID account, though.

Lastly, the term “Apple TV” sometimes refers to the Apple TV box (some similarities with Fire TV devices).

The term “Apple TV” is also sometimes used (in the Apple TV app) to refer to the iTunes Store for buying/renting movies and buying TV shows, i.e. in the meaning of content provider.
