"Disabling" Auto-correct on Apple Watch

I'm hoping my "solution" works for you guys who are frustrated like me who don't like having auto-correct on.

Basically, in the Apple Watch app, go to General > Language & Region and change your preferred language to anything other than English. In my case, I used Filipino.

After your  Watch restarts, you should find that auto-correct does not correct AS MUCH (but will still do) based on your language.

Until Apple decides to allow us to disable auto-correct, this is the best I can figure works for me.
