Is there a way to mass insert the default transition onto the timeline instead of adding the transition between each and every clip....10.6.2 version

Many thanks! I did the control A and everything lit up, but when I did the control T and moved everything down to the timeline, the transitions were not there. I think I have set the default transition correctly, but even if I didn't, the software had a default transition, right?
You add need to add to clips to the timeline before you can add transitions.
Take some time and follow the free course at izzyvideo to get to know the application. It will save you many headaches and get you up to speed much faster.
Just finished the 60 minutes. Whew!!! It's a taste of what is to come. I really need to take tiny steps, so buying the full 7 hours might be a wise choice. Just not sure whether to load it onto the iMAC and toggle between FCP and the tutorial or load it onto another machine and play dueling computers. Thanks for all your great suggestions....peace
Select all the clips in the timeline (click anywhere in the timeline, then type Command+A), then once selected, type Command + T to insert the default transition.

Select the clips and press ⌘ T.
Oh, wait! I see I was to do the control T on the timeline after being brought down....so sorry I didn't read it correctly!
One big challenge answered! Onward:-))
Thanks to all
Thanks, Luis!
I have been watching the videos, but none of them covered this aspect...so far:-). It's a challenge, but I'm committed to change from PC to MAC in creating DVD's.....peace
