Play Count

Hi. My play counts aren't syncing properly. I suspect it's because I'm using Apple Music on an Android device as well as a PC.

I know it's not syncing properly because the play counts of songs I added this year are less on Itunes than on my Replay list. I became aware of this two years ago.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello TerenceTCM,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to make sure the play count is syncing across your devices using Apple Music.

Let's verify the setting is enabled to share the play count, detailed here:

"Change Sharing preferences in iTunes on PC

In the iTunes app  on your PC, use the Sharing pane of iTunes preferences to share your library (or specific playlists) or choose to update play counts.

To change these preferences, choose Edit > Preferences, then click Sharing."

"Home Sharing computers and devices update play counts

Update play counts (the number of times an item has been played) for items in your iTunes library when the items are played on other computers in your Home Sharing network, or on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

See Import media using Home Sharing."

This Apple Support page has the full details: Change Sharing preferences in iTunes on PC - Apple Support

If this is already enabled, do you have any pending updates for your devices?

We hope this helps to isolate and resolve the issue causing the play counts to show differently.

Cheers!
