Deleted text messages still showing up with timestamp in order of receipt instead of being deleted and going back down the list of messages. How do I fix this or is it going to take another update to fix that bug?
I have spoken with Apple and they’re support team, this is completely an engineering thing and they’re saying it is behaving correctly. They did the same thing with iOS 8, why fix what isn’t broken? This is the last response that I received today, 1/19/23
“As of yesterday, the engineering group says that the issue is actually expected behavior. I have not seen any other information to say that they plan to try and change the way the messages currently display when deleting messages.
If you would like to see the feature changed or switched back to how you had it before, you can let the engineering group know of that request at apple.com/feedback.”
The lady that helped me was super nice and agreed with me that it shouldn’t be like this. I see that there’s other numerous people on here with the same feeling. It’s irritating. Anyway hope you all can send feedback to Apple at the link above in my message body and let them know it isn’t going to work.
No…. People need to keep complaining to them. They just had another update to 16.3.1 and it didn’t fix anything. It’s a joke…!
Anennimdo. My phone isn’t letting me see the rest of your comment to te result of your phone call to apple support. Other than that they were condescending. Did they give you a solution. It is super annoying that the thread doesn’t go back to original time stamp
Did all that was suggested and it didn’t do anything to change what I described.

I remember the iOS 8 and it happened again after that with another later version… it is super annoying!
I submitted feedback. They don’t want to admit they screwed it up or they can’t figure out how to do it with the new features.
Did anyone ever figure this out? It’s so annoying!
