My Apple Pencil won’t connect to my iPad

The Apple Pencil is brand new but the iPad is around 3 ish years old. Apple Pencil is gen two and iPad is 6th model. Bluetooth is on and I’ve tried restarting multiple times.

You purchased the wrong version Apple Pencil.

You need to return the 2nd gen Pencil and purdhase and use the older, original, 1st gen Apple Pencil.

FYI,

ALL base model iPads ( 6th through to the new 10th gen ), currently, use ONLY the older, original, 1st gen Apple Pencil.
