Adding gift cards to apple wallet

I know that I have done this before with zero issues but now that I have the latest software update, iOS 16.1.2 maybe the process has changed. If anyone knows how to add a gift card from marshalls let me know. Thank you and Merry Christmas

When trying to add my debit card to the wallet it says “unable to add card” I previously used the same card with my previous phone and watch for Apple Pay with no issues. Apple said to contact my bank, contacted my bank, they said to contact Apple. The phone is up to date with the latest software and has a strong wifi connection. Ive tried adding the card several times, signed out of my Apple ID and then back in again, restarted iPhone to no avail. Has anyone else had the same problem?

You may be able to add the gift card into the Marshalls app but you generally cannot do so directly into the wallet
