Does green text on iPhone mean blocked?

A week or so ago I noticed that my girlfriend’s texts I was sending her from my iPhone to hers turned blue to green with a “sent as text message”. Does this mean I’m blocked? I can’t FaceTime her as it keeps ringing and when I call her cell, I get one ring and her answering machine kicks in. I was talking to her sister one day and she said she has been texting with my gf as well as calling her on the phone. I was told by some Apple reps that if one was blocked from one iPhone to another, the texts would remain blue with no indication of it being delivered.

No, it does not mean you are blocked. It means the messages are being sent via SMS as opposed to iMessage. It appears your girlfriend is signed out of iMessage/FaceTime and needs to sign back in.

FYI, there is no way for you to ever know if you are blocked. If someone blocks you, they simply don't get your messages. And that is their choice.

Lobsterghost, this is true.

Morning Pilerman,

1) Yes, it's going to the correct number and her sister is using the same one. Over a week ago, everything was fine with the blue bubble but then when I texted her later, it switched from blue to a green bubble.

2)Just for the **** of it, I did delete the message convo a few days ago and it's still the same.

3) If it's coming from my provider, wouldn't I have the same problems with others that have an iPhone?

Her sister knows the difference (lol)

I’m very certain that she still has the same iPhone and hasn’t changed providers. She doesn’t have enough to buy a new phone anyway. If she did, I’m quite sure she would have told me when we were texting when the bubble colours switched. Plus, she would have replied to the texts I sent her after this occurred.

I really hope it’s an easy reason why but my gut feeling tells me otherwise.
