Siri Remote not turning off actual TV

Just purchased the newest Apple TV 4K (3rd Generation) with the Siri Remote. The Apple TV Controller is not turning off the actual tv, it’s just turning off the Apple TV. It will turn on the Apple TV and the TV but will not do both when holding down the power button on the Apple controller. I have gone into the Apple TV settings-remote and devices-control tvs and receivers is turned on. And I’ve gone into the actual TVs settings and turned on CEC and it still will not turn off the TV TV. Does anyone know how to fix this?

CEC functions are all optional for manufacturers. Apple TV can send commands to the TV, but it is up to the TV to listen and react to that. Contact the TV manufacturer about if your model TV supports setting to standby through CEC from connected devices.
