Attachments are still loading error message MacOS Ventura 13.1

I am getting this message anytime I try and respond to an email on my new MacBookAir. "This message contains attachments that are still being loaded. Please wait for the attachments to complete and then try again." It does not give me this error when I reply on my phone, strictly on my laptop.

For the life of me I can't figure this out...anyone know of a solution to this and why this is happening? Thanks!

Mail issues—

Open mail app select Mail>Settings>Privacy disable:

  • “Protect Mail Activity” /
  • “Hide IP address” /

Hi @Ctables,

I was having the same issue, and then noticed that within the reply thread history the images within the signatures were displayed differently.

Sometimes it would show the image, sometimes it would show the file name <SWF_REBRAND_SIGNATURE_SMALL>, and sometimes it would show <null> and this is when that error message would show up. (Sorry I couldn't replicate the issue while taking screenshots)

When I deleted the <null> line, it would let me send the message, no problem.

I have the same issue, only one thing works for me so far.

Each email message, from me or some others have image in the signature, when I hit reply, the image is replace by the file name, for example: image000456.jpg

If I deleted this "image000456.jpg" then I can send the email, else, I will keep getting the warning and sometimes I get freeze or restart of mail.

What kind of attachments are triggering this notification, i.e. photos, files, PDFs?

Boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

It's simple:

Apple now monitors everything you do and has coded everything to basically try to stop you doing things Apple doesn't want you to do. For some reason they don't want you to send that particular mail. It won't do this on any other mail, just the one you're trying to send. Is it political?

Same thing with junk mail: they don't want you to be able to identify junk mail. They lose money if you're not bombarded with the mail and they can't prove they've delivered it to you.

I am also having the same incident.

With my last incident, all I was doing was replying to an eMail I sent earlier.

It had an eMail signature pic in it.

This is not new to the industry and has been done successfully by Microsoft Outlook for years, so why is Apple's eMail suddenly coughing up furballs here?

I'm appalled that nobody has even looked at these complaints yet ...

there are several.

Awaiting resolution/advice ...

Hi,

If anyone has found a solution PLEASE share. I have spent more than 8 hours (in total) on the telephone with Apple and on screen-share desperately trying to sort this out.

I slowly worked my way up the hierarchy of Apple staff when - turning it off and turning it back on again didn't work.. Long story short....they haven't got a clue.

This began a year ago when I bought a Macbook pro (4500€)

This is the message I have been receiving, randomly for 16months.

Warning

This message contains attachments that are still being loaded. Are you sure you want to send it?

Even when there are absolutely no attachments or the problematic ............

I am absolutely furious.

After 10 years of using an old Imac and thinking how fantastic Apple was I am now thinking that Microsoft maybe the only solution. (this problem does not occur in OutLook but what a sad state of affairs that you have to use a Microsoft program because Apple has gone to S**t

Poor Steve jobs will be turning in his grave.
