Lost iPhone made a call

I dropped my iPhone 13 off of a ride at a theme park 2 days ago. Since then 'Find My iPhone' has shown it in approximately the same spot under the ride with the time updated to 'Now' every time I open the app, although the location does shift a bit as the app tries to find it. I also placed it in 'Lost Mode' with a message to call my father if it is found. Early this morning my father (the last person I called with my phone) received a call from my number and when he picked up all he heard was silence. 'Find My' still shows it in about the same location.

Is it possible that my phone made the call to my father independently? How likely is it that someone was able to hack into my 4-number passcode while the phone was in lost mode to make the call? How accurate is the 'Find My' map? Would it be possible for someone to hack that as well to make it seem like my phone is in the same spot?

Hello laila_227,

While we don't believe the phone has called your Father independently, it is unexpected that the call came from your number. If someone was able to get past the code, it would more than likely turn off Lost Mode.

Have you been able to contact the theme park to see if they could locate your iPhone from under the ride?
