IPhone 11 storage full twice today: removed tons of app stuff, photos etc. Got down to 93/128, then a couple of hours later, up to 126.5/188! System data ballooned. Tried clearing caches (safari, chrome…), that’s just 2/3 fb. Yikes! What gives?

2) Be aware that when you delete photos, they must also be removed from Photos album Recently Deleted to truly free up storage

Yep, thanks. Did all of the above. Soooooo fun to do a full backup and factory setting reset - up till 2 am. That cleared it, now down to a paltry 40gb/128. Ooop update: now 43gb/128, system data went up 3 gb while I was sleeping.
This strikes me as absurd.
System data ballooned to 75gb in an hour
