Mac OS upgrade
Current OS is Monterey 12.6.1. Have tried installing 12.6.2 three times; no joy. Also tried Ventura with the same (i.e., no) results.
iMac 27″ 5K, 12.6
Shutting down now and going for a long walk.

You've done a lot of work for me; thank you. Removed MalwareBytes, Symantec, Mackeeper, Nord VPN, Flip for Mac. I couldn't find Webroot, not in Apps, Utilities, or Library.
Think my Learned colleague meant webRoot just a slip of the keyboard 👍

Some day soon I'll get to the Genius Bar; meanwhile, thank you both again for all your efforts, and if (when) the issue is resolved, I'll update you (on Ventura). Happy New Year!
I got to the Genius Bar yesterday. The bad news was, my hard disc drive has gone defective. The new drive is on order. Problem solved. Thank you both for your patience and effort.
Not a good way to ring in 2023 but at least the Source of the Problem is recognized and a solution is pending arrive ( new drive )
