Server error updating iCloud

I recently updated my OS and have since gotten a notice for the new terms and conditions agreement for the iCloud. I've read the terms but when I click on "I Agree" the agreement isn't accepted as I get the following error message "iCloud could not be activated because of a server error. Please try again." I have tried again about a dozen times without success. Any suggestions?

Hi geeroy2002,

If you are having trouble getting past terms and conditions for iCloud, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Make sue your Mac is connected to the internet Connect your Mac to the internet using Wi-Fi.
  2. Restart your Mac Shut down or restart your Mac.
  3. Ensure you are up to date How to update the software on your Mac
  4. Test in safe mode as it can help you determine whether issues you’re experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up. How to use safe mode on your Mac
    • As it also " It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed." if it doesn't happen when in safe mode, restart your Mac and test again.

Take care.

I am having the same issues, ever since the new update to Monterey ...I have tried everything you suggested and it keeps spitting back as not having accepted the terms and conditions...are you sure this is not an issue with the update since we are probably not the only ones. I am far from computer illiterate when it comes to a Mac!
