Turn off music

Hello, many times music starts playing by itself or the icon lists a song ready to play without a prompt. Is there a way to shut it off until I want it on.

thanks

Hello mrbizness1

So that we can assist properly, can you let us know what is happening when you see the music start or appear on the screen?

Are you connected to a car stereo with Bluetooth or headphones? If so, this may be expected.

If you are seeing "Now Playing" on your Lock Screen for AirPlay, you can disable and control that with these steps:

Play music on iPhone – Apple Support

"Get audio controls from the Lock Screen or when using another app

Open Control Center, then tap the audio card.

Stream music to Bluetooth or AirPlay-enabled devices

  1. Tap the player to open Now Playing.
  2. Tap the Playback Destination button, then choose a device.

See Play audio from iPhone on HomePod and other wireless speakers.

Note: You can play the same music on multiple AirPlay 2-enabled devices, such as two or more HomePod speakers. You can also pair two sets of AirPods to one iPhone and enjoy the same song or movie along with a friend. See Play audio on multiple AirPlay 2-enabled devices in this user guide and Share audio with AirPods and Beats in the AirPods User Guide."

Cheers!
