I found my dad's old Iphone 3G and have been wanting to get it open and see what old pictures and videos we might have on here but have been stuck on this roadblock. I have tried many solutions online but none of them seem to work, anyone had the same problem that can help?

You have no choice but to reset it if it is in DFU Mode

Doing so is pretty pointless as there is no data left on the device and it’s no longer usable as a phone now that carriers have shut down their 3G networks.
Unfortunately, if it was in DFU mode, those photos are long gone.
