Determining if this is a Scam:
Where are you being asked for this? If it is an eMail, it is likely a scam - Instagram will not eMail you asking to install their software and provide your credit card info.
Avoid Scam eMails:
What exactly are these eMails inferring? If it is unexpected and about your account, I'd suspect it'd be a scam.

Consider Modifying your Crdentials:
- Modify: your login credentials (Using Both a New eMail and a New Password for each and all sites)

So, I insist you contact Apple Support - they will see this from their side, and will let you know what exactly is going on here.
