Same issue for my new iPhone 14 Pro Max. Each selfie photo I take looks normal for 2 seconds then autosaves to a much darker, unflattering contrast. It's very annoying and I can't seem to fix it. Please provide a solution or software update.
The issue appears localized to the single zoom (Wide?) rear camera. Other zoom levels as well as the front facing camera all take normal pictures. This appears to be an issue presented in the iOS 16.3 update and was not patched with 16.3.1.
This issue has been occurring from day one of having this phone. It’s not due to a software update. And as far as I know Apple is not planning on correct in this issue. They could send an update but have indicated the camera is functioning as design. So disappointing.
This is not helpful at all. We just don’t want our photos getting darker than what they looked like when they were captured. Fix this problem please. It’s making lose interest in my new iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Ugh this is annoying I’m seeing all over the web that this camera sucks and I bought it for that reason! I just took side by side photos with my 13 and 14pro and the 13 is better. I’m actually ******! Hope you plan on reimbursing everyone that you screwed apple because I haven’t been impressed with your product for a while this is the final straw!
I haven’t really found a permanent solution to this issue, as the iPhone 14 max definitely makes pictures darker. I’ve notice that it really makes things in the sun darker. To make my pictures look the way I want I have turned the vibrance up on my camera and I simply edit my pictures. But if you want the picture to look how it looks before the camera settles and makes things dark simply screenshot the picture very quickly before the camera settles
I’m having the same issue, even before taking the picture it looks really nice but after a few seconds they look darker. I decided switching back to Apple, from Samsung to iPhone (my last iPhone was an iSE 1st gen) for a great camera experience, but i’m getting disappointed, actually my SE still takes better pics than my iPhone 14 Pro… I hope this to be solved with a software update soon…
Unfortunately it’s not an issue Apple is working on fixing, to my knowledge. If enough people provide feedback about it, Apple may fix it with a software update someday. Cow-dog has already provided the link for people to provide Apple feedback about this issue. This is NOT a poll or petition for goodness sake. Cow-dog is the one providing the link, not me.
Are you reading all of these complaints @Apple ? They are everywhere on the Internet.
I’m so disappointed in my 14 Pro Max. I had such good pictures on my 12 Pro and only upgraded for the camera which I thought I was getting. Why hasn’t Apple provided a fix for this? it’s insanity. :(
Hi my phone also does the same thing, even when I’m outside in the dark . The only pictures I got good was the first day I bought it, my very very first pictures were the best. I even tried wiping the Fone off thinking maybe I changed the settings unaware but , it’s if no help.
I have written them there and I suggest everyone Does so too. Please let’s let them know what a mayhem of a phone they released to the world with which you can’t take a good selfie for crying out loud!
Why is my photos coming out like this I always used to get better photos then this it just look black and white it doesn’t want to add color to it at all. Yes I can edit but it just don’t look natural
I turned off advance like HDR, and then I turned on auto burst. They have where you can hit the volume button up and do auto burst and if you do that it doesn’t apply something on the photo and it comes out lighter.
It’s so frusterating to spend this much on a iPhone that is marketed for the camera, the whole reason I got the promax was because the camera was supposed to be great. But sadly it’s not, I miss my iPhone 11 promax. All my photos now look great through the camera until I take them and then a couple seconds later they are darker, worse quality, and over sharpened it looks like. It’s ruined so many photos over the past year it’s dissapointing.
