WALMART APPLE GIFTCARD

I bought an apple giftcard at walmart, but when trying to redeem tis it mentions that the number is invalid.

Tried calling walmart and they said I have to go back with the giftcard and receipt to have them activate this, problem is that I'm not in the US anymore and not able to go back to walmart.

Is there any other way to redeem this card?
