Someone is trying to recover my AppleID account from a lost iPhone (over a few years ago)
A few days ago, I started getting messages on my iPhone and MacBook with the text "Use this device to reset Apple ID", every time I refused it. Now I received an email from Apple with the text:
An account recovery request was made for your Apple ID
Dear ********,
An account recovery request for your Apple ID, *****@icloud.com, was made from an iPhone on 1 January 2023 at 22:55:39 GMT+3. The contact phone number provided was +**********. You will receive a text or phone call at this number when your account is ready to recover on 29 January 2023 at 22:55:39 GMT+3. For updated status information or to provide additional information to help recover your account, please visit https://iforgot.apple.com.
If you did not make this request or do not recognise the information shown above, you should cancel account recovery(link here) immediately to keep your account secure.
Sincerely,
Apple Support
It seems to me that someone somehow managed to start the process of resetting the account, the phone number indicated in the letter is not familiar to me, but the link that is attached to the letter does not work, if I click on it, a message appears:
Cannot Verify Account
We apologize but we are unable to verify your account information online.
What should I do to cancel the account reset process and not lose it?
