I'm trying to transfer data from my old Windows PC to a new Mac Air. Both are connected to the same WIFI and are sitting next to each other. The Mac Air keeps telling me it's looking but keeps on spinning and can't find the PC. I have downloaded Migration Assistant on my PC as well. What's wrong?

With moving data from a PC to a Mac make sure both computers are running the latest updates. If there is security software enabled on your Mac, make sure that it has been disabled. Both computer should be connected to power. If you have a slow internet connection, try connecting them by Ethernet cable. This may require an adapter.

We understand. If you use iCloud, you can get data synced to your Mac, such as Photos, Contacts, and so on.
If you're not using iCloud on your iPad or iPhone:
Sign in to iCloud on all your devices

Thank you. I will try that. But, frankly, for me, starting over might be smarter. I have an iPhone and an iPad so much of my stuff is already linked. I see an opportunity to get rid of junk. My only concern is my Word documents; haven’t decided whether to get Word for Mac or not yet.
