My iMac 2018 27" does not have a power button

I do not see a power button and got this thunderbolt cord: WESAPPINC Replacement US Plug Extension Cable A1418 A1419 for Apple iMac Intel 21.5" 27" 923-0285 622-0390 Power Cord Supply 2012 Late-2019 // https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KV9WSJV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I also bought an adaptor to my macbook version 12.5.1

The screen does not turn on... wondering if I don't have a strong enough thunderbolt power cord?

When looking at the iMac from the rear, the power button is on the lower right side. Also see: https://9to5mac.com/2019/04/30/power-button-imac/

That is accurate for current models and I believe it is for the 2018 as well.

Look like you are using Thunderbolt Display (or older Cinema Display) -- there is NO power button at all, and no need of it either. But if you really like to "shut it off" - you can put on a power brick with a hard switch.

2018 Mac devices, are using Thunderbolt 3 -- and Thunderbolt Displays use Thunderbolt 1/2.

In order to make the connection, you will need this adapter.

Cinema Display (DVI interface) - you will be likely need a dock with DVI port for this.
