Hi Igreene,

I had the same issue, my brother 2350dn not working anymore after MacOs upgrade. Since I knew Dell laser printers were Lexmark products with a different look, I used their latest universal driver (10.4), and it has been working so far :

https://www.lexmark.com/en_us/support/universal-print-driver.html

I still have a few issues, with sometimes a pdf not printing from preview, and for some reason printing from acrobat. Make sure the firmware is the latest version also.

hope this helps.

How old is the printer? If you look for a new Dell see if there's one that can use the same cartridges as your current Dell. It's unlikely but if you can it might save you some $$.

Downgrading to an earlier system version can be done but you'll need a backup of your boot drive by Time Machine made just prior to the time you upgraded to Ventura.

I take it it's a laser printer. If you have to get a new printer consider the HP Laserjet M110w. We had a bigger HP that finally failed after 5 years of heavy use. We're retired now so the M110w fits our need very well. Its purchase price was around $110 or so. It will only take HP cartridges (no 3rd party) but the large size cartridge produces about 800-900 copies depending on the amount of printing per page is down. And it's only about $45 per cartridge. It's wireless, always on and we can print from our iPhones as well.

Your needs may be more stringent and it might not be what you need.

Very helpful. The printer is quite old. The company I used to work for sold them to employees as they were upgrading. I have quite a bit of toner for that printer, so your point about finding a printer that can take the cartridges is my next best solution. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. The other challenge is the other printer that it is compatible with hasn't upgraded its firmware either.

I am work from my Mac book and wondering why, when I send a print job to my Brother Work Smart printer receive a message saying "printing of jobs for this printer is stopped. Do you want to continue and resume the printing jobs?

First of all there are no printing jobs lined up for this printer. The functionality of its current status is all over the place. Today it allowed me to print one job and refused the next. I am concerned that the jobs being refused are stacking up and that one day they're going to all come shooting out. Oh, that's right, that did happen. And yes, this problem began shortly after updating Ventura. How many hours of peoples time has this one cost customers? Some one really messed this one up.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this resolved?

Thank you
