All apple devices ask for Apple ID password to update Apple ID settings EVERY DAY!
Hi there;
I have 3 apple devices, an iphone XR, an iPad 9th Gen & an MBA M1. Recently my macbook constantly asks me to enter my apple id password in order to "update apple id settings" and it says "some apple id features will not be available untill you enter your password". It happens every day. This started before the iOS 16.2 upgrade. After the upgrade, my iPhone and iPad, joined my MacBook in constantly asking for the password!!
Every day I enter my password correctly in the settings app, and it directs me to my account info. And I know I entered my password correctly because I can use all iCloud settings and the App Store, and I can also enter my account through apple website.
But the problem is that it keeps repeating everyday.
Is there sth wrong with my Apple ID???
P.S:
- I have already tried logging out, restarting, and logging in again to my Apple ID on MBA. It didn't work.
- All my devices were and are up to date.
- As far as I'm concerned, I have not changed any Apple ID settings.
- I do not use 2 factor authentication (in fact I cannot do so since I live in Iran and apple does not accept Iranian phone numbers for 2FA). Maybe this is the cause?
- I have to use different VPNs every day (eg: ShadowRocket w/ VLESS & VMES protocols). Can that cause the problem? I've been using these for more than a month, much before the iOS 16.2 update. So it's probably not.
- I also have a weird problem that my MBA and iPad won't connect to my iPhone hotspot (Hotspot Remote Failure error). After several attemps (tens of times!) they do connect and they connect seamlessly ever after, untill I restart one of them. Maybe that's relevant? Although it started from the beginning of using my iPad and MBA (also even with my previous iPhone (8)).
