SD card reader use to back-up my MAC
Can I use the built-in SD card reader rather than an external hard drive to back-up my MAC?

Not recommended because SD cards are not considered permanent enough storage.
Use a rotating magnetic drive in an external enclosure. Do not pay extra for a drive that is fast.
