Chinese Pinyin Keyboard has a bug that doesn't let me select Chinese words on the first try.

When I use the Chinese Pinyin Keyboard, I often run into an issue that occurs right when I switch from the English to Chinese Pinyin keyboard. When I type in some pinyin for Chinese words, the Chinese words appear but I cannot actually select them. It is only after deleting the pinyin and retrying on the second attempt that it works.

Additionally, the first attempt gives the wrong selection for the Chinese words. It is as if the first input is registered incorrectly by the phone. Does anyone else have this issue or know why this is?

I've attached screenshots which shows how the first select cannot be made, and only upon deleting does the correct wording come out.
