Replaced AirTag battery but it still won't connect to iPhone

some people report that some brands of batteries has a coating on them so kids dont eat them and one have to remove the coating before those brands of batteries work

I've run into an issue that after replacing the battery the iPhone is unable to sync up again with it. I rebooted the phone and it worked!
